TLC Turfmaster’s 7-Step Lawn Care Program
TLC Turfmaster’s 7-step-lawn care program is our most comprehensive lawn care program. It combines fertilizer, herbicides, liquid aeration and a dethatcher to ensure your lawn will receive the nourishment and strength it needs to thrive. We start our 7-step lawn care program in the spring.
Early Spring
During our first visit, we apply both a pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control to eliminate winter weeds and help prevent the growth of spring and summer weeds before they start. At this time, we also apply liquid aeration to help break up and loosen topsoil. This encourages deeper-rooting that will drive oxygen deep into the soil.
Late Spring
We apply both a pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control and provide your lawn with its first fertilizer application of the year. This will stimulate more active growth, and increase the dark green color of the blades. We also apply liquid fertilizer with iron and add a soil amendment to help increase rooting and decrease the amount of stress caused by the summer heat and drought.
Early Summer
When summer first arrives, post-emergent weed control is given to further battle more persistent pests such as crabgrass and nutgrass. A second round of fertilizer is also applied to help boost nourishment and assist your lawn in battling the stress of hotter temperatures. At this time, we also include a liquid dethatch, which will help decompose thatch.
Middle of Summer
We repeat the above process once again and apply fertilizer and post-emergent weed control. A liquid dethatcher is included to decompose thatch.
Late Summer
At this time, we apply fertilizer to help stimulate the development of roots, which is critical for their long-term health and natural resistance against weeds. We also employ a liquid fertilizer to help prepare your lawn for the fall. It contains a soil amendment to help increase rooting while decreasing the stress caused by the summer heat and drought.
Fall
We apply pre-emergent weed control to protect your lawn from upcoming winter pests. If needed, we will also use a post-emergent to clear out any remaining summer weeds. At this time, we also apply liquid aeration to help break up and loosen topsoil while also encouraging deeper-rooting that will drive oxygen deep into the ground.
Lime Application
A lime treatments is applied to neutralize the soil’s pH levels. This will help make nutrients more accessible.
Options and Modifications to Our 7-Step Lawn Care Program
Our standard program is made for warm-weather bermudagrass and zoysia grass. If your lawn has the cooler-weather fescue grass, we have an alternate program tailored to fit its needs. Contact us, and we can explain how this works.

With a customized plan, you have 30-days from the date of your first application to place a service call should anything go wrong.
